Set up call forwarding

Send missed and busy calls to your receptionist, and keep your own number.

How call forwarding works

You keep your existing business number. Call forwarding tells your phone carrier which calls to pass on to your receptionist: only the ones you miss or can’t take, or every call if you’d rather not be reached. Your receptionist answers, collects the job details, books it straight into your calendar if you’ve connected one, and texts you. Nothing about your number changes, and you can switch forwarding on or off any time.

You will need your receptionist number, the dedicated MamTina number assigned to your account. Enter it with the area code (for example 5551234567) wherever the steps below say “your receptionist number”. You can always find it on your dashboard.

Which option should I choose?

  • Busy + no answer (recommended): your phone still rings normally. Your receptionist only picks up the calls you miss or that come in while you are busy on another call.
  • Forward all calls: every call goes straight to your receptionist the moment it comes in, and your phone stays quiet. Handy on a job site, on holiday, or any day you don’t want to be reached.

Want forwarding only during certain hours (e.g. after 5pm or on weekends)? Dial codes can’t schedule by time. Some carriers offer a schedule in their app or website under Calling features; otherwise simply switch forwarding on and off with the cancel codes below.

Instructions by carrier

Codes are dialled like a phone call. Enter the code followed by your receptionist number, then press call.

Using a business phone app instead of a carrier?

Apps like Quo, Grasshopper and RingCentral don’t use dial codes. Forwarding is a setting inside the app: add your receptionist number as an outside number and put it after your own phone in the ring order, so you ring first and your receptionist only picks up what you miss.

Need a hand?

Carrier codes change occasionally and some plans differ. If a code doesn’t work, turn forwarding off with your carrier’s cancel code above (##002# clears every rule on AT&T and T-Mobile lines, *73 on Verizon) and start again, or contact us and we’ll walk you through it.
